6FootMedia created a comprehensive control panel application to administrate all the functions on the water tech website. siteCMS manages product database, the dealer database, site content (CMS) and proximity location (dealer search) settings.

About this project

6FootMedia developed a Content Management System (CMS) solution termed siteCMS. We use siteCMS in all our new development projects as it allows our customers to maintain their own website without the need for web authoring software such as GoLive or FrontPage.

The control panel for Water Tech's website at www.watertechcorp.com embeds both siteCMS technology and additional features which make this complex system much easier to manage.

• The content sections allow the client to make changes to all sections of the website using an easy to use online word processor.  Because the website www.watertechcorp.com has two mirroring sites (flash and HTML), changes through the control panel replicate to both versions of the site (!)
• Proximity Locator Configuration: allows tweaking and modifying settings of the dealer search proximity locator system. When visitors to www.watertechcorp.com search for a dealer near them (buy pressing the "buy now" button in any product section) - they are sent to the dealer search system. A radius search, exhaust search, and number of results - are all settings that can be modified at any time.
• Import/Export functions from ACT! 2003 sales management tool to the dealer search system were incorporated into the control panel
• Full access to the product database: Products can be added, modified, product images can be uploaded, and products can be blocked from various portions of the website.
• Comprehensive notifications: All activty on the website is monitored. The monitoring email address can be changed.
• All of the confirmation messages in the system are customizable. This includes: invoices, receipts, dealer-search results, notifications to dealers of consumers' dealer search, and more. Our system uses a smart-form generator developed by 6FootMedia which allows database fields to be incorporated into the custom forms. The client has full access and capability to design and edit the confirmation messages using the form system.
