Synopsis:
Developed a website that can be edited and modified by non-computer, non-designer company staff using a friendly content management system (CMS). For a more advanced implementation of 6FootMedia's siteCMS, see: demo1.6footmedia.com/sitecms 

• Editor & Image Library
  This screenshot demonstrates the comprehensive features included in the CMS: A full features word processor, spell checker and image library management tool.
• Templates
  siteCMS allows the user to choose one of several pre-configured template layouts which were designed specifiaclly for the client. This allow them to quickly add new content without any design planning.
• Full Featured Backup Facility
  The backup system packs all user-uplaoded images in a zip file; It then traverses the siteCMS SQL server database, automatically identifies the database structure from the server SCHEMA tables, and converts each table to a microsoft table. These tables are stored in a Microsoft Access database (MDB) which is zipped, added to the first zip file and then zipped again in an easy to download single file.

About the client

Galion is a screw machine manufacturer located in Ohio with a 100,000 square foot manufacturing facility. The company wanted a website they could be proud of but which they could maintain themselves.

About this project

The central feature for this project is the development of a content management system integration with 6FootMedia's siteCMS. The CMS allows a layperson in the company who might not have any formal training in website development to make changes to the website. The CMS provides limited access to content in a way that prevents major damage to the overall look of the site. Using the CMS, the company administrator can log in using any standard web browser and using an online text editor to make changes. The editor includes a server-side spell checker, image library manager and built-in templates for quick design of pages. siteCMS also includes a full features backup facility which converts the MSSQL-2000 database to a Microsoft Access MDB file which can be stored locally. This allows the company to create "snapshots" of the website which "freeze in time" the content of the website in case they desire to revert back to the prior version.
