About This Client
Bill Stoller, the founder of Publicity Insider and a seasoned publicity expert, launched PublicityInsider.Com as a tool to assist business owners in deploying their own marketing efforts and publicity campaigns.
About This Project
PublicityInsider.Com contains two main areas of data-driven functionality:
1. Insider's Circle - This section of the website is a premium area with content not publicly available to regular visitors. It contains listings of publicity contacts (editors, reporters and publishers) organized by country and media type. The information is available in tables that are accessible with a regular browser. The administrative tool allows the client to easily update these tables (see link on the left to view the Insider's Circle).
2. Subscriber Administrative Tools - The website's premium content requires a subscription. Our script automates the online subscription process by authorizing the credit card purchase and adding a subscriber record to the database of subscribers. The script also detects re-subsciption requests for special handling.
Technical Details
This application uses the 6FootMedia eCommerce library for integration with credit card processing gateway. Not only do we use secure https for transaction processing, but our script uses military grade 256-bit MD5 encryption to authenticate the credit card processing server against a public/private key combination. This script was developed to circumvent hackers attempting to present false transactions to gain entry to premium services and to prevent credit card identity theft.
