About This Client

MSO provides services and sells medical devices to physicians in ophthalmic and cardiology specialties. Its offerings include: ECG monitoring services, cardiac intervention devices, non-invasive Amblyopia treatment and sleep apnea monitoring devices & services.

About This Project

MSO's best-selling product is the ECP/EECP, an External Counterpulsation Device. 6FootMedia strategically changed the nature of MSO's business so that it would have increased access to the ECP physician community by developing a web-based application that allows any visitor to the client's website to enter a zip code and retrieve a list of physicians who promote ECP treatment in the visitor's home area. By directing patients that visit the site to local physicians providing ECP treatment, MSO was able to create inroads to physicians' practices so that it can continuously promote its other products and services.

Technical Details

The mathematical libraries developed for the long/lat conversions are available for purchase. Contact sales@6footmedia.com for more information
The ECP network server software automatically detects the location of the user by their zip code. It is then converted to longitude/latitude coordinates. A SQL server query performs a search using an approximation of earth's curviture to generate an exact radius search within that given geographic area.

When a patient performs a search within their home area, all facilities within that radius are automatically sent a fax notifying them of the patient seach (of course, non participating providers do not get contact information for that patient). If the system has a contact email on file, a email follow-up is sent as well.

Additional features on the ECP network server:

  • An online library of marketing documents which can be offered for a premium charge. ECP network staff can upload PDFs or Word Documents using the administrative panel,
  • Automatic updates of profiles of manufacturers and links to financial websites that provide detailed profiles about the manufacturers, and
  • A dynamic mapping system which allows users (both patients and physicians) to view the current status of the network and treatment availability.
